"I joined the Gym in September 2010, and since then I have embarked on a series of 1 on 1 personal training sessions.

During our sessions, my trainer demonstrates what she wants to see me do, and will push me hard and encourage me throughout our session to achieve this.

She also likes to throw in some new exercises each week and increase the work load to see how far you can push yourself and how far she can push you once you have reached what you think is your threshold.  “You get out what you put in” and no two sessions are ever the same.

My PT is always on hand, very approachable, even when not training with her to have a chat and see how things are going, gives pointers, hints and tips on how to best your own training session and achieve your own personal goal and will even give you new ideas so you don’t get stuck in a rut when training.

Since starting the gym in September, I have lost 1kg in weight but over 8% body fat.

Julie Succes Photo"For the first time in years I started to feel good about myself I really enjoy all kinds of exercise from racket sports to jogging on the treadmill, it really lifts  my mood and makes me feel good. I cant wait for Leisurezone  to open so I can go swimming which I love.

A year on and I've lost just over two and a half stone and feel like I have so much more energy than I used to, no more falling asleep mid-afternoon!! I use the Sportcentre at least 3 times a week and enjoy having some ‘me’ time. 

I'm very happy with the my new mindset as well as my new figure. I feel so much healthier."

"Like most people, my working day is long and busy but the centre's opening hours ensure that I can work out either early in the morning or late at night.  This has helped me to remain focused, especially as I have to pass the door to go home!  Also, I meet with one of the centre's trainers every fortnight to review my progress and to adapt my programme - this has helped me to never tire of the same workout or to feel too challenged but to keep things in perspective and to set achievable goals and targets.

I have now attended the gym four and a half months and I have lost 5st 2Ib.  People tell me that I look 10 years younger but for me, the most important thing is that I feel like myself again!"
